From colored pencils to ballpoint pens, I tried to venture out of my comfort zone to explore mediums I’m unfamiliar with. It ended up becoming such a joy because it felt like a great way to step out of the perfectionist mindset. I’m very much still in a discovery phase where I practice drawing and painting different things in search of what speaks to me, so for this practice I didn’t mind letting the mistakes happen. An upcoming trip to Copenhagen inspired the sketch of Nyhavn. My admiration of Critical Role inspired the sketch of creative director Marisha Ray portraying her endless hard work. Learning more about Gaudí’s work and Gaudí himself with his dedication to his craft inspired the sketches of his portrait and traces of his architectural designs.
