Portrait sketches from ‘The World of Critical Role – The history behind the epic fantasy’

From left to right (all references in ‘The World of Critical Role: The history behind the epic fantasy’): (1) Hair-flipping Ashley Johnson, (2) Matt Mercer in a cool DM inspired outfit, (3) Some of the many Matt Mercer DM expressions (4) Travis Willingham as himself and his portrayal of his d&d character Grog, (5) Taliesin Jaffe portraying his d&d character Mollymauk.

Some low quality pen and pencil sketches I wanted to put up here of some of the Critical Role cast. I’ve been enjoying drawing portraits and people’s expressions and I had the perfect book laying around with hundreds of references I could pick from to practice, ‘The World of Critical Role: The history behind the epic fantasy’. It was the perfect book to sift through for this purpose because I’m a big fan of Critical Role and the humanity and friendship they represent, so it felt like a goldmine having this book around.
